Celebrate Tatau: Sāmoan Tattooing and Photography - exhibition on its opening day. Tour the exhibition with curator Sean Mallon and artists Angela Tiatia, Mark Adams, and John Agcaoili – and have your own tattoos photographed!

Programme:
10am–12pm: Have your tattoo photographed
Celebrate your tattoo story by having your tattoos photographed by Andrew Matautia from Saint Andrew Photography. Free, no bookings required!

11am–12pm: Artist Talk – Angela Tiatia, Mark Adams, and John Agcaoili
Tour the exhibition with curator Sean Mallon and three of the exhibition’s artists. You’ll hear about how they’ve responded to the changing nature of Sāmoan tatau – described in Sean Mallon and Sébastien Galliot’s award-winning book, 'Tatau: A History of Sāmoan Tattooing', as a history of “both continuity and disruption, with social, cultural, and technological change coming from within Sāmoan society as much as from the outside world”.
