The story of taming the ‘shrew’ in order to win the younger sister has been told in various forms over the years, for example in Kiss Me Kate and 10 Things I Hate About You. In this stunning Franco Zeffirelli film adaptation, it is played classically and true to Shakespeare’s original play, with truly powerful performances by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
