Shared Lines Collaborative, Kaikōura Museum, The Mayfair Arts and Culture, Te Ahi Wairua O Kaikōura and Kaikōura District Council are excited to present the Shared Lines: Kaikōura, an arts festival from 16-24 February 2019.

The Festival opens Saturday 16 February at 6pm with an international art exhibit at Memorial Hall, free refreshments, art talks, and more.

Also mark your calendar for Saturday 23rd February, 4-11pm, for the closing Street Party, and Pie in the Sky Bike Parade!

Get involved
The Shared Lines team want to extend the invitation to community groups and individuals in Kaikōura to become involved in the Festival.

- Show your talent on the KK Community Stage
- Participate in the Pie in the Sky Night Bike Parade
- Be in Binge Culture’s award winning audience participation show whales, and/or
- Volunteer to support an event, a workshop, or visiting artist!

Background
The Shared Lines Collaborative is a not-for-profit network of artists that explore themes of art and resilience. It involves artists from areas affected by earthquakes and natural disasters from across New Zealand, as well as delegates from Japan and the Pacific.

Highlights of the Festival include the Shared Lines Art Exhibition, visiting Japanese artist in residence Yasuaki Igarashi, Māori weaving and pepiha workshops, interactive performances including Audrey Baldwin’s Snood and the Binge Culture’s show Whales, Pie in the Sky’s night bike parade, and the the Bric ’a’ Brac Ravers DJ party, plus and afternoon packed with talent on the KK Community Stage.
