Meet the Maker Workshop 12–16 years “Building Stories around Interesting Characters”

Hamish Bennett is teacher, film director and writer, most recently for Bellbird, 2019 which premiered at the NZ International Film Festival. His first short film The Dump won an NZ Writers Guild award for Best Short Film Script. In this short Eleven-year-old Utah gets dumped with his estranged dad for the day in this 2011 short film. This was followed with 2014 award-winner Ross and Beth and Tihei for Loading Docs in 2015.
In this 2 hour workshop Hamish will explore story and character and how the two are intertwined, using clips and examples. This will be a great workshop for any students wanting to make their own short film.
