Rubicon is a group show that highlights older and recent works from four mid-career artists – Patrick Malone, Graham McFelin, Grant Whibley and Shruti Yatri – who have retained a close connection since their art school days in the 1980s.
While they often get together to discuss art and share experiences, each has an independent direction and language, which makes for a compelling and diverse show. They have, says Grant Whibley, “established a common accord that comes with an awareness of the artistic conditions that each one works with. One that stretches into the broader field of existence, where being separated creatively is not a limitation to understanding one another.”
Rubicon’s opening event will be held on Sunday 27 October at 5pm, then the show will run daily 10am to 4pm from Tuesday 29 October until Wednesday 13 November. The gallery is closed on Labour Day.
