An exhibition of oil and wax paintings exploring the theme of exile and migration.
The focus of each artwork is the strength of the people, following a story of leaving, a harrowing voyage and the unknown outcome of arrival. The exhibition explores those desperate journeys and asks us to consider how we view those fellow humans who face the terrible wrath of the sea in the hope of reaching a better life.
Wairarapa artist Rebekah Farr has exhibited for the past decade and has placed in several awards: Molly Morpeth Canaday Award, Wairarapa Art Review, and Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award. Farr also has a Degree in Fashion Design and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Animation and Interactive Media.
Her solo shows at Aratoi: Drift (2016) and Departures (Dec 2018 - Feb 2019).
