Celebrate International Museum Day with Rotorua Museum.
Take this opportunity to meet the team, ask some questions and learn what happens behind the behind the scenes of a Museum!
The team from Rotorua Museum will be at Te Aka Mauri in the Discovery Space on Saturday 18 May 2019 between 10.30am and 1.30pm, chatting to visitors about what it’s like to work for a Museum, how to care for treasures and what goes in to putting together an exhibition.
Importance of climate (temperature/humidity/hydrogen sulphide), issues of pests (insects and animals), how you handle or touch the items, hanging artworks correctly and what goes in to protecting fragile artworks during transport are just some of the knowledge the team are excited to share with you.
From paintings to photographs, carvings to weaving, ceramics to sculptures, our experienced team is here to answer your questions.
For more information or to submit your own questions please contact Tori Williams, tori.williams@rotorualc.nz or phone 07 351 8055.
