This course will approach printmaking in a painterly and abstract way through making artistic, tactile and personal surface interventions on paper "Pages" through paint, collage and printmaking. This workshop is full of graphic surprise and narratives that reveal themselves as you produce the work.

This is an opportunity to work with layering and respond to what evolves; be it reclaiming old book pages, tuning in to the poetics of Dunedin's landscape, responding to something in the exhibition or intuitively tapping into memory. It is all about process - we will print, print, print and towards the end of the day your "Pages" will be edited and bound into a book with photo album screws. The size is 75 x 210 mm, reminiscent of early surveyors field books.

There will be a station set up for gelli printing and another station with an etching press where you can print from a selection of pre-prepared collagraphic and solar plates. There will also be a tiny 3-D printed press for you to try out!

We will use soy based Aku inks and waterbased Printmaking inks.
