This is a drop-in workshop for those wishing to try paper-making and learn a little about the history and significance of the craft. There is no charge but a koha to support Featherston Booktown is appreciated.

Next year’s Featherston Booktown Visitor’s Book will be made using the paper made during these sessions. If your interested in the two paper-making workshops later in the afternoons we encourage you to drop in to this morning session to reserve a spot, as places to the afternoon sessions are limited.

Koha donation.

After this drop-in workshop there are two one-hour sessions for those wanting to make paper to keep - on Saturday 11 May from 1.30pm - 2.30pm and Sunday 12 May from 1.30pm - 2.30pm. The charge for these is $25, payable at the door, which includes the postage of your dried pressed paper.

This is an event involved in the Featherston Booktown Festival on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May celebrating everything to do with books, writers and reading. The three-day programme includes writing workshops; poetry readings; talks by leading authors and illustrators; and a book fair including stalls with rare and second-hand books. There are also events specifically for children.

Take a look at our website for the full programme of events.
