Taranaki Symphony Orchestra presents ‘Northern Lights’, a smorgasbord of music from Scandinavia.

Young violin sensation Emmalena Huning from Australia plays the extraordinary Sibelius Violin Concerto with the orchestra, conducted by Adam Jasinski. Over recent years Emmalena has wowed audiences in her native city, Perth, and now at only 18, she has gained a scholarship to the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London.

Taranaki has stolen a march on the major centres: this New Plymouth performance will be the New Zealand debut of a rising star certain to make her mark in the world. The concert also features the well-known “Karelia Suite”, and “The Four Temperaments”, the second symphony of foremost Danish composer Carl Nielsen. This is sure to be a memorable musical occasion – make sure that you are a part of it!
