Nightmare Songs (The Skepticism of Pathos) is an Exhibition of new works by visual artist Maggie Covell.

This new body of work looks at how the subconscious mind gives us cues during the state of sleep through dreams. Pathos in this instance is used as a communication device between artist and viewer and asks can our reaction to image/s ever be valid?

Pathos is also explored through a series of interactive activities which invites the viewer to become the artist. The works experiment with repetition, colour + sound while using Victorian illustrative + Ukiyo-e woodblock techniques in a contemporary approach.

Feat. soundscape/installation in collaboration with Katikati based composer/musician Chris Miller.

This show is on from 4th to 25th May and open to the public during The Arts Village opening hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm, and Saturdays 10am to 2pm.
