Hear about the stories of Wellington’s important mid- to late-twentieth century places on the Modern Wellington walking tour - part of Wellington Heritage Week.
The tour explores the major changes and controversies created by Wellington’s Modern buildings, structures and places - all that glass and height, the dynamic and quirky shapes and, of course, the concrete!
The tour of the central city starts at 1pm on Sunday 3 November and attendees are encouraged to gather from 12:45pm at Cuba Mall’s Bucket Fountain.
This is a free walking tour is currently fully booked, but please contact Heritage New Zealand’s Central Region Office (infocentral@heritage.org.nz or 04 494 8320) if you would like to be added to the waiting list.
The tour will take approximately 1.5 hours, so comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing/protection is essential.
