It's life, but not as we know it, at the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium's Sci-fi Fridays!
Aliens are among us, but they're hidden from the everyday population of the earth. To protect humans from any threats of an extra-terrestrial origin, an elite, secret organisation known as The Men in Black has expanded to cover the globe, but so have the villains of the universe. To keep everyone safe, decorated Agent H (Tommy Lee Jones) and determined rookie M (Will Smith) join forces – an unlikely pairing that just might work.
When nefarious, new aliens that can take the form of any human arrive on Earth, H and M embark on a globe-trotting adventure to save the agency – and ultimately the world – from their mischievous plans.
One of the daily tasks for the Men in Black is to act as a planetary biosecurity agency. Biosecurity is crucial to prevent introduced (alien to our country) and unwanted plants and animals from destroying native habitats. At the start of this film, you will enjoy a brief talk by Otago Museum staff talking about conservation and the biosecurity involved with our hottest attraction, Tūhura’s tropical forest.
Sci-fi Fridays take place on the second Friday of the month at Otago Museum's Perpetual Guardian Planetarium. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase.
Rated M – Low level violence. Run time 1h 38m
