Part of Conservation Week 2019 - conservationweek.org.nz.

Scion and the Department of Conservation would like to help you learn about Myrtle rust, a fungal disease that severely attacks plants in the myrtle family including pōhutukawa, mānuka and rātā. It is now in New Zealand.

A member of the Myrtle family may be in your backyard!! Lets learn together our native plants and meet the Myrtles!

Walk through Johnson Reserve and have an expert Scion Research Scientist help you discover the mysteries of what's threatening the Myrtle plant family.

Discovery for the whole family in the beautifully restored track, planted and maintained by the Johnson Reserve care group in Welcome bay.

Look for our gazebo and the Department of Conservation banner at Waipuna park. Celebrate Conservation Week with prizes, native plant ID and meet the Myrtles.
