View from the South - Grahame Sydney and Owen Marshall in conversation with Nikki Macdonald.
The poetry of Owen Marshall and photography of Grahame Sydney complement each other beautifully in their book, View from the South.
In this session, they discuss their 2018 collaboration, and other ties that bind a friendship of many years, with journalist Nikki Macdonald.
Grahame is best known for his dramatic paintings of Central Otago, where he lives, but he is also an acclaimed photographer and writer.
Owen is a renowned and acclaimed novelist, short story writer, poet and anthologist who experienced boyhood in Blenheim, but has spent most of his life in South Canterbury and Otago.
He has an honorary Litt D from the University of Canterbury where he is an adjunct professor. In 1996, he was the Katherine Mansfield Memorial Fellow in Menton, France.
