This exhibition celebrates an important milestone of twenty-five years in the history of the Mahara Gallery by focusing on three key artistic figures in its early years.
The first patron of Mahara Gallery was Mary, Lady Hardie Boys, who also has an accomplished history and reputation as the artist Mary Zohrab.
One of the key gallery founders, Robin Rogerson began her art career in the early 1960s and brought an artist’s sensibility to developing and delivering the exhibition programme which she did for many years alongside Fay Bresolin, Florence Kane, Peter Trim and numerous others.
Bob Gibbs was a founding trustee of the Mahara Gallery Trust and founding chairman of the Kāpiti Coast Community Art Council in 1979.
