The Performance Arcade Live Music Series is back with an exciting line-up featuring a hand-picked selection of bands and artists, to take you from laidback afternoon sessions into vibrant night time sets.

Thursday 28 Feb starts us off with an eclectic set of music by DJ Kedron, who is part of the fabulous Radio Active. Next up will be big riffs and big beats with Badababuska, from bass extraordinaire Blain Fitzpatrick. Continuing with the big riffs, shoe gazers Bad Friend hit us with some big sounds, and closing off the evening will be a new project of Arcade regular Marika Pratley presenting 'Class war on the Dance floor'

Friday 1 March will kick off with the smooth voice of song writer Sonny Southon. Next up German artist Johanna Amelie will beperforming for the first time in Wellington in partnership with Goethe Institut. Alt-pop group Girl Boss will be bringing us their first performance in the city for some time, before the amazing Dawn Diver play the closing set, with an aural assembly that traverses a Möbius strip of Future Soul, Avant Folk, and Afro Fusion.

Saturday 2 will begin with a second performance for the talented Johanna Amelie, followed by Christchurch based folk pop artist Monique Aiken who's voice is not to be missed. Michael James Keane presents a special performance of his recently released album The Cascade. The Onirists will be an explosion of rhythm and melody, led by the fantastic Lucien Johnson. Closing the night will be the wonderful modular sounds of Miles Avery.

Sunday 3 will see local song writer St Bartholomew presenting a new collection of songs. Tangerine bring middle eastern rhythms and instruments to The Arcade for the first time. M.I.A 3000 then mixes future funk with tweaked tech infused bass that will make you bounce. The Arcade is then closed by a screening of the 1930's film Häxan, which depicts Witchcraft through the ages. Häxan is accompanied by a live music and narration, led by the wonderful Andrew Laking.

The award-winning event will be showcasing a diverse programme of art, live music and performance, installed within a special architectural arrangement of shipping containers. Free performance events and interactive activities will showcase both NZ and International artists.

Since 2011 the Live Music Series has developed a reputation amongst musicians and fans as an exciting opportunity to discover new sounds, try new ideas, and encounter some of the best from Wellington’s formidable music scene.

A pop-up bar provides exclusive Arcade brews from Tuatara and wine from Leftfield, while Food For the People cook up the best in hot foods using local ingredients.
