Kids Yoga

Ella Richardson will be leading our young Kanuka Yogis through an outdoor and summer-inspired series at Kanuka Yoga Space on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 4:30pm.

This 5 week series aims to inspire creativity. Suitable for children 7-11 years old. Our ethos at Kanuka is "be playful, be adventurous, breath, movement, mindfulness"

Week 1: Intro to yoga: Sun salutations, getting to know yoga poses and breathing, getting to know each other with partner yoga

Week 2: Beach yoga: We'll pack up the car, hop in and make our way to the beach to meet the creatures there*

Week 3: Camping yoga: Let's head out into the wild with our tents and binoculars to explore the outdoor world*

Week 4: Garden yoga: Discover the flora and fauna out in our own backyards*

Week 5: Yoga affirmations + mandalas: I am grateful, I am strong, I am kind

*To clarify... these are purely themes for the sessions; all classes will be run inside the studio at Kanuka Yoga.

Each class will include:
- Opening: Centre myself
- Sun Salutation
- Movement (yoga poses/games)
- Learning/discovering/imagination
- Breathing
- Meditation
