Set in December 1936, Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot features Broadway star William Gillette, who is admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes. As our extract opens, his fellow cast members are arriving at his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry.
As the plot develops, however, one of the guests is stabbed to death, and the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it's up to Gillette, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears.
The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunnit set during the Christmas holidays. Winner of the 2012 Edgar Award for Best Play from the Mystery Writers of America.
