'Karanga' is a welcome call to share in a celebration of some significant New Zealand music, interspersed with folk-songs from around the world. Mount Albers Grammar School's well-known Jazz Band and the newly-formed Boys' Choir will also be participating in the concert.
The title of the concert takes its name from the opening work - 'Karanga' - written by David Hamilton for The Graduate Choir NZ in 2005. 'Karanga' will give a foretaste of some wonderful NZ music - represented by composers such as Chris Artely, Douglas Mews, Katherine Dienes, Christopher Marshall - along with music by Schumann, Patriquin, Whitacre and others.
