Focusing on the use of fundamental skills in jewellery making, utilising our fully equipped workshop, these classes are open to all learners regardless of experience. These classes continue to be popular as an opportunity to discover jewellery or for making jewellery for your friends, family or general sale.
For new students, you will make 3 compulsory pieces; the "Club" ring, a monogram pendant of your own design, and a rub-over setting for a pendant or ring.
These pieces of jewellery will introduce basic control in the use of the jewellers’ hand-tools, soldering techniques and good workshop practices, including recovery of precious metals, safe handling of tools and machines in the workshop.
Returning students go straight into making your own designs.
You will need to bring a bib apron, wear closed toe shoes and if you wear your hair long it must be tied up.
Materials are extra for all classes.
As a general guide the first three exercises includes Silver, solder, Setters fee, and other consumables, costing around $110.00 upto size Z. Gemstone prices range from $2.50 upwards.
