Karakia (incantations used to open gatherings and at ceremonial events), Waiata (songs sung collectively) and Mihimihi (introductions and greetings) will shape this fun and inclusive introductory course in Te Reo Māori.

There will also be a focus on pronunciation and understanding sentence structure. Mike Davey is an advisory and resource teacher in Māori Education in Canterbury and holds a BA (Hons) from Canterbury University in Te Reo Māori. His open and participatory teaching style makes this an ideal place for anyone keen to start their Te Reo learning journey and/or build their confidence in speaking some basic Te Reo.
