Friends of the APO Inc - Meet The Artist

Melanie Lançon, the newly appointed Principal flute of the APO will play a programme of music for us. Originally from the United States, she has performed as Guest Principal with Seattle Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, and joined WindSync on their Midwest tour and Schubert Club residency in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2015.

This will be followed by an interview with Frances Moore, opera director, writer and APO Artistic Administrator. Frances is a graduate of Victoria University and Toi Whakaari, the New Zealand Drama School. She first trained as a classical singer and was a finalist in the 2007 Lexus Song Quest.

In 2012, she was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship, which allowed her to undertake research at New York University. There will be a light lunch as usual.
