For this exhibition, the Handweavers and Spinners Guild will be responding to the compelling subject of the seasons.
Just as in Japanese art and culture, we see the seasons expressed in colour, form and texture in the exquisite kimono fabrics, so are we inspired to celebrate seasonal differences and changes. Some work will feature just one season, whilst others will show the contrast or similarities of two or more seasons.
The work will be hand dyed, handwoven, hand spun, hand knitted, hand felted and sometimes a combination of these techniques. The technical expertise of the Guild members will be used to create work that is both skilled and aesthetically pleasing.
