A student asked, “What is the fundamental constant principle?”
The Master replied, “Change.”
Our mind continually seeks to create a sense of certainty and order. All the while, we live within the natural law of impermanence; all things are in a ceaseless state of change.
We experience this on the direct level of our aging and dying. We see it within our cultures and societies, governments and technologies, the effects of climate change, and in moments of violence and tragedy.
How can we draw from Buddhist teachings and practice to help us understand impermanence, and importantly, to live in harmony with it as we work to bring benefit to our world and find peace within ourselves? And what is the role of Faith in Buddhism, given that it’s not based on theism?
This evening talk and discussion will explore these concerns and is open to everyone. Entry by koha.
