Join Curator, Māori Art Nigel Borell for a tour of Living Portraits: Mata Raurangi. In this exhibition, 19th and 20th-century Māori portraits by Gottfried Lindauer and Charles F Goldie are displayed alongside contemporary artworks by artists who share an association to the people depicted in those portraits. The exhibition engages with Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural heritage and people while offering new insights and perspectives on historical portraits made anew by the contemporary art expressions of descendants today.
This is a Gallery Members-only talk. Limited capacity, booking required. If your membership includes a guest pass you can book for a plus-one.
