The exhibition “Our Town” is a chance to walk through Masterton over six decades.

60 photographs by Pete and Ted Nikolaison, taken over the past 60 years.
The photos are available for purchase.

A book (120 pages) of photography is also available, with writing by Gareth Winter, Wairarapa Archive.

Historical items are also on display, such as
-The sash and crown of Masterton-born Gay Williams, nee Phelps, Miss New Zealand, 1965.
- Bob Francis’ referee jersey,
- motorbike racer's Aaron Slight’s first leathers

Here is the story behind the photograph by Ted Nikolaison:
Allan Williamson won the Royal Invitational Golden Shears in Lower Hutt in 1963. Unfortunately, he was drying himself off when he was called to receive his trophy from the Queen and did not hear his name being called. When he rushed to the stage to be presented with his trophy the Queen said: “Mr Williamson, you are the first man in the world to keep me waiting”.

The exhibition continues until 1 March 2020.
