In the third lunchtime talk of the Perspectives on Holistic Health series, Teresa Rudgley shares her perspective, insight and experience to demonstrate how individuals can work through and beyond psychological distress to live fulfilling lives, with the support of their communities.

Teresa Rudgley is a Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal Coordinator with 20 years’ experience of the New Zealand Mental Health System. During that time, she became dismayed by many of the standard practices, which, arguably, did not precipitate full recovery. Determined to find better ways to support mental health patients, she began an exploration of ‘best recovery’ practices from around the world.

From this broad knowledge base Teresa realised that a powerful key towards full healing began when individuals recognised their personal power and the sovereignty or ‘mana’ of their mind and body, along with connection to their community, families, spiritual world and natural environment.
