The climate is changing and it’s having an impact on everyone, including New Zealanders. People around the world are being called to take actions to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Many are switching to electric vehicles (EVs).

There are over 3 million EVs globally, and the Central Government’s Electric Vehicles Programme hopes to have 64,000 EVs on NZ roads by the end of 2021.

Are EVs the way to go?

Join Thom Adams, Engagement Coordinator, Faculty of Science, Victoria University, for a panel discussion about EVs, their effects on climate change, the environment, and human rights.

Panellists:
- Greg Nelson, Principal Advisor – Vehicle Strategy at NZTA
- Jörn Scherzer, Manager of Sustainability & Resilience at Hutt City Council
- Julianne Leggott, Representative, Amnesty International New Zealand
- Sigurd Magnusson, Project Manager, Electric Van Fleet Trial and Charge Station Project, Foodstuffs
