Blowout Comedy

Veteran NZ/Aus comedian Dan Brader is still currently touring his latest show “The Rotten Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Toxic Tree” but now he’s been hard at work on another show! “Rotten Apple....” deals with his tumultuous but comical relationship with his uptight grumpy retired businessman Father whilst this latest hour deals with Dan’s desire to be the classic independent strong alpha male that all men strive to be but most men fail miserably to be. Dan’s life has been a bit of a wild, off the rails journey full of morally dubious escapades and moments of funny but nutty self destructive behaviour. Is there a comedian he hasn’t gotten into a drama within NZ and Australia? Do all his relationships with women end in high drama? Come watch this new work in progress show all about Dan’s weirdo, blowout attempts to be the classic alpha male that all wind up in Dan being an “Alpha Fail”...It’s an incredibly honest, poignant, personal and funny show filled with Dan’s penchant for eyebrow raising storytelling comedy.

Here's what critics have said...

"Brader is a comic you will love or hate, but he's never dull." - New Zealand Theatre Review.

"Brader's unique comedic style set him apart." - The Southland Times

"In a comedy world that can be a bit ‘same-y’, Dan Brader dares to be different" - ARTSHUB

"Petulant upstart" - The Groggy Squirrel

"He described his own life and circumstances with a raw intensity that verged on drama more than comedy, but he always had a line to pull the drama carpet from under us." - New Zealand Theatre Review

"Like a mean magician who, during the illusion, would deliberately spoil the wonderment by revealing how the trick works, Brader is a ‘this is how I could make this story funny for you but I’m not gonna’ style comedian" - ARTSHUB

"The show started twenty minutes late!!" - Australian Comedy Review

"What the man definitely has talent for is, unashamedly brutal character impersonations" - ARTSHUB

"Clearly the most experienced, Brader breezed through with a bunch of sharp, cynical and biting gags on a variety of topics." - The Southland Times

"Brader (in this show) declares himself a self confessed “horrible, horrible, human being” and some of his material certainly leaves him in a less than favourable light with anyone with morals. But he's unashamedly honest about it and his own proclivities, and with a very professional demeanour you feel like you've been warned." - New Zealand Theatre Review
