With the emergence of Spring, so too has the bounty of fresh produce - or, more importantly for the curd obsessed amongst us, the seasonal shift also marks the arrival of fresh cheese. So, with the kidding, calving, and lambing happening across New Zealand, it felt appropriate to reintroduce our cheese and wine nights, Corks & Curds.
The focus will be on artisanal and farmstead cheeses from across NZ as well as their Northern Hemisphere counterparts. This will mean a look at raw versus pasteurized cheeses (and the challenges our local producers face); the difference between Spring and Autumn milks and, a favorite topic, the exciting and diverse world of moulds and microbes! And, naturally, the only proper way to explore those topics, will be to pour natural wines alongside!
This will be a relaxed, yet insightful evening replete cheese puns and unfiltered wines. So, if you feel like you haven’t made quota on educational cheese and wine experiences for 2019, please join us on December 16th at 6pm!
