Packed with global colour, The Pale Blue Dot explores personal stories and the ways we interact with nature.

The music mirrors the journey of Mundi composer and flautist, Tamara Smith, who—along with her brother, guitarist Tyson—grew up on the rural East Coast of the South Island. From here, they could see the Kaikouras and Banks Peninsula, with the endless Pacific horizon in between. At night, starscapes appeared to touch this horizon, and it was here that their musical ramblings began.

Fast forward 20 years and Tamara has travelled the world, performing in jazz clubs in Paris, recording an album in Sri Lanka, learning traditional Indian flute by the Ganges and warding off alligators in the Amazon.

These experiences greatly shape the grooves found in Mundi's music. So come along and let this solar system of sound transport you around the world without having to hop on a plane.
