To help honour Matariki - the Maori New Year (official date is June 25th), The Vines Village in association with Eat New Zealand joins Manaaki Maori Inspired Food in hosting a weekend long event for the nationwide Feast Matariki with a special menu featuring tasty kiwi kai on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd June.
The Manaaki Aunties will be on-site for tastings of their amazing sauces make with ingredients from Wai Harakeke and made with aroha.
It's time of post harvest celebration, so the Vines Village Cafe will have some special Maori inspired dishes on the menu and kai moana (seafood) including:
Hua Whenua (Vegetable Soup) with Rewena Bread
Kamokamo & Mussel Fritters with Manaaki Horopito Lemon Mayo
Kumara Fries with PikoPiko Mayo
