RixenNZ presents the 4th annual Cable Wakeboarding Championships at AWP (Auckland Wake Park) in Onehunga lagoon.

The 2019 New Zealand Open Championships in Cable Wakeboarding will be hosted by Rixen NZ at (AWP – Auckland Wake Park) Onehunga Bay Reserve on the 9-10th March 2019.

The Event will be recognised by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF).

The event is free of charge for spectators!
During the event we will have food truck, coffee bike, ice-cream truck!

To register for the Nationals riders need to create their profile on http://www.cablewakeboard.net/ and sign up for the Competition through My Competitions. That is needed to get the world ranking points.

To pay for competing please transfer the registration fee ($120NZD) to Rixen NZ Limited 12 3060 0006782 00; Code: Nationals; Reference: competitors name the fee is being paid for.

Please try to get registered before the 1st March. Registrations after 1st March will have late fee added and be $150NZD.

Entrants will have to become members of Cable NZ, This can be found on nzwaterski.co.nz.

International riders will not have to sign up to Cable NZ. Cable NZ is a division of the New Zealand Waterski Federation recognized by the IWWF.

As the NZ Nationals are a IWWF 3 Star event the best riders in every division will be awarded World ranking points in accordance with the IWWF rules.

Format:
Riders will perform tricks on the sliders, kickers and on the water, that last either 2laps (2 times the 150m cable run forth and back) or until the rider falls for the 2nd time.

The best 4 – 8 wakeboarders(depending on the amount of competitors) in every division will qualify to the finals on Sunday.

On the day of the finals everyone will have chance to ride 2 runs from which the highest scoring one will count.

The competitors will be judged by a panel of 3-5 experienced judges, who will score the riders on technical difficulty, the use of the course, style, execution and amplitude.

There will be a IWWF qualified judge on the panel, who will be the head judge and overlook that the IWWF rules are followed throughout the competition.

After the finals there will be a Big Air competition where wakeboarders will have 2 chances to try their hardest trick on NZs biggest kicker.

In the end of the day there will be an award ceremony where the best wakeboarders in every division and the 2019 NZ champions will be announced.
