NZ photography legend Ans Westra will be at {Suite} from 12-2pm on 15 February, to mark the end of her exhibition 'Toy-Land'.
Shot in 2004, 'Toy-Land' looks at the souvenir market and how we project ourselves as New Zealanders to the world.
“I started looking at the souvenir market, how we portray ourselves to the world, collecting things people sell for souvenirs. It’s representation in a more playful way”, Ans said.
Presented as large scale glossy prints the seven images from the series are on show at {Suite}, 241 Cuba Street, Wellington 6011, until 16 February.
Upstairs at {Suite} there is also a permanent museum space devoted to Ans Westra's archive.
