This concert features the Brilliant Amelia Berry and the "soon to leave these shores", young Samoan Tenor Manase Latu. Their collaborative artist is Cathrine Norton from Wellington.
Amelia is a seasoned performer with NZ Opera. She presently resides in London where she moved from New York last year. Her roles with NZ Opera include Musetta; 'La Boheme', Zerlina; Don Giovanni, Cunegonda; Candide, Frasquita; Carmen, Yum Yum; Mikado and Joanna in Sweeney Todd.
Manase is a young tenor of emense talant, having won several competitions in the last year including The New Zealand Aria. One of 4 in "The Shades" singing quartet, he has also spent a year as a young artist for NZ Opera and last year featured as Parpignol in their production of La Boheme. In September he moves to London on full scholarship to further his studies.
Cathrine, among other things is one of New Zealand's leading accompanists; renowned for her supurb, sensitive and imaginative interpretation.
These are three exceptional young artists featuring in the second of our three Winter Series concerts at the Auckland Opera Studio's 'Ansonia Room'. They follow on from the sucess of Filipe Manu, Natasha Wilson and Somi Kim in June.
