120 years old & 3 years new! Birthday Celebrations at The Suter.

It’s been 120 years since the Bishop Memorial Art Gallery was opened and 3 years since re-opening of The New Suter, where Art Matters in Nelson.

And to celebrate we are having a party and you are invited!

All visitors to The Suter will receive birthday cake on Saturday 5th October, our own Bishop Suter and wife Amelia Suter will be serving complimentary cup of tea. Official cutting of the cake at 10.30am, meet the staff.

As a special birthday treat we have limited places on our revealing “Behind the scenes tour”. Departing at midday for only $20 (public) and $15 (Friends of The Suter), call us to book.

As a birthday gift to art lovers, join us at 2.30pm for our feature floor talks:
Pitopito Korero, short talks of personal interest and recent studies from our curator, educator and director.
