PTC consists of people of all ages who tramp for recreation.

Regular trips are organised, ranging from ‘easy’ to ‘hard’, day trips to long weekends. We usually car-pool to go tramping and meeting places vary so check out our web-site to see where and what time to meet. Monthly club-nights are held at the Baptist Church Hall.

Mission:
To facilitate tramping for people with different levels of fitness and tramping experience.

Club Overview:
Peninsula Tramping Club (PTC) is a Christchurch tramping club. We come from all over Christchurch and beyond, we’re from all walks of life – and we all love tramping! We organise regular tramping trips all over the South Island (and occasionally beyond), with a mixture of day trips/weekend & longer trips. Base camps are run about once a month, were we stay at a lodge or camping ground and make day trip from there. Some people take their bikes and do a bit of cycling.

Monthly club nights:
Monthly club nights on the second Tuesday of each month (excl. Jan) at the Baptist Church Hall at 286 Oxford Terrace, near the corner of Madras St and Oxford Terrace. Doors open 7.30pm for 7.45pm start. Visitors are welcome to come along. $2 donation

Digital photos of past trips may be shown, or there may be a guest speaker – a gold coin donation covers the cost of hall hire and refreshments. Non-members welcome! Club nights are a chance to meet us and ask any questions.

Social Events:
We hold monthly events such as short evening walks followed by dinner, Court Theatre plays and pot-luck dinners at members' homes.

Conservation:
We do conservation work each year e.g. wilding pine eradication or track maintenance.

New Member Enquiries: Check out our web-site for information on how to join and to see what trips are coming up. We are also on Facebook.
